Whole Wheat Buttermilk Waffles

In less than 20 minutes you can enjoy this whole-grain waffles and don't forget to add your favorite fruit or syrup!


8 tbsp. of corn starch
3 cups of whole wheat flour
1 tsp of pink himalayan salt or 1/2 tsp of sea salt
1/2 cup of oats
2 tsp of baking powder
1 tsp of baking soda
4 tbsp of butter ( or other non-animal fat like canola oil)
4 cups of buttermilk (or 4 cups of nut/non dairy milk with one tbsp of lemon juice)
4 egg yolks
4 egg whites (whipped until peaks appear)


1Quickly mix the dry ingredients and then add the wet. Reserve the egg whites for last and gently fold into the batter. Ladle 1/2 cup of batter onto a hot waffle griddle, follow electric griddle instructions.
2Serve with fresh fruit and favorite toppings.
