Turkey Ragu with Pasta and Salad

A great way to utilize ground turkey in a simple, wholesome meal.


1 lb. of ground turkey
2 crushed/minced garlic cloves
1 can of 13oz. tomato paste or sauce
1-2 cups of vegetable broth or water
Half an onion chopped
1 package of pasta cooked per instructions
Salt & Black Pepper to taste
2-3 tbsp. of olive oil
2-3 cups of spinach
Choice of tomatoes, veggies, or fresh fruit
Low fat dressing
Grated pecorino cheese
1/2 cup of red wine
1 tsp. of Italian spices
1 tsb. of minced basil leaves
2 cups of chopped tomato.


1Heat a large saucepan on medium heat. Add onions and garlic, cook until translucent.
2Add turkey till browned (15 mins.) Add all other spices and vegetables. Scrape bottom of pan and cook till tomatoes release juices (10 mins.)
3Add tomato paste/sauce. Bring to a boil.
4Add wine and stir in. Lower heat to simmer and add a lid for ten mins.
5Serve hot with cooked pasta, cheese, and salad.
