Strawberry Popsicles

Fresh fruit is refreshing and on a hot Louisiana summer day, homemade popsicles add a bit of fun to healthy snacking.

Ingredients:

3 cups strawberry puree (blend in a blender or processor before assembly)
½ cup Basil leaves (minced) - optional
Juice of 1 Lemon
½ cup Water
1/2 tablespoon of Steen's Cane Syrup

Instructions:

1Mix cane syrup and water together. This will mix well if water is at room temperature or slightly warm.
2Puree strawberries
3If using basil mince the leaves well, and add to the puree.
4In a medium sized bowl or pitcher combine water/syrup and strawberry/basil mixture.
5Pour into popsicle molds.
6Place in freezer for 4-6 hours or until frozen.
7Serve frozen on a hot Louisiana day.

Cook's Tips:

Add a slice of strawberry to each popsicle mold for an extra fruity treat. Also you can add a 1/4 cup of fat-free yogurt or coconut milk to this mixture if you want a creamsicle.
