Strawberry Popsicles
Fresh fruit is refreshing and on a hot Louisiana summer day, homemade popsicles add a bit of fun to healthy snacking.
Ingredients:
3 cups strawberry puree (blend in a blender or processor before assembly)
|
½ cup Basil leaves (minced) - optional
|
Juice of 1 Lemon
|
½ cup Water |
1/2 tablespoon of Steen's Cane Syrup |
Instructions:
1 | Mix cane syrup and water together. This will mix well if water is at room temperature or slightly warm. |
2 | Puree strawberries |
3 | If using basil mince the leaves well, and add to the puree. |
4 | In a medium sized bowl or pitcher combine water/syrup and strawberry/basil mixture. |
5 | Pour into popsicle molds. |
6 | Place in freezer for 4-6 hours or until frozen. |
7 | Serve frozen on a hot Louisiana day. |
Cook's Tips:
Add a slice of strawberry to each popsicle mold for an extra fruity treat. Also you can add a 1/4 cup of fat-free yogurt or coconut milk to this mixture if you want a creamsicle.
