Bourbon Shrimp with Blackberry Green Salad
Quick and easy, this sophisticated meal is great for dinner parties and under 20 minutes to prepare.
Ingredients:
2 teaspoons of vegetable oil |
1 lb. of shrimp (unpeeled) |
1 pinch of salt |
1/2 tablespoon of bourbon |
1 clove of garlic (smashed) |
Salad: 1 head of romaine lettuce (washed and shredded to bite size pieces), 1 pint of blackberries |
Dressing: 1 tablespoon of cane vinegar, 1 minced clove of garlic, 1 tsp. of lemon zest, 1 tsp. of vegetable oil and black pepper. |
Instructions:
1 | Boil shrimp for 2-5 minutes (light pink color.) |
2 | Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Using the flat side of a cutting knife, carefully small clove of garlic and add it to the pan. Add shrimp, arranging in a single layer. Lightly season with salt. Cook until the shell begins a to brown a little. Using tongs flip shrimp and do the same on the second side. Carefully, slide/shake the pan to get even cooking for 1 minute. Remove skillet from heat. Add Bourbon to shrimp pan. Using tongs flip and stir to coat. Let bourbon evaporate from hot pan. Add black pepper, remove the garlic and serve hot. |
3 | In salad bowls add 1/2 cup of Romaine leaves to each bowl. Add a 1/4 cup of black berries to each salad bowl. Add 1/2 tbsp. of dressing to each salad serving and serve with shrimp. |
