Director of Marketing Communications, East Jefferson General Hospital
John is Director of Marketing Communications at East Jefferson General Hospital. His background in healthcare marketing goes back to 1996 when he began creating syndicated infomercials and television/radio commercials that eventually ran in more than 100 U.S. markets generating nearly 1,000,000 LASIK patients. That success spawned additional marketing and advertising work on behalf of other elective procedures and ultimately provided turnkey marketing plans and products to hospitals, clinics and practices that performed heart scans using General Electric Electron Beam Tomography.
He was already providing creative services to EJGH as an outside vendor when Hurricane Katrina hit. In the days that followed, he was brought in to assist in the immediate communications needed in the storms’ aftermath. John’s team is responsible for the advertising, marketing, public relations, media relations, corporate relations, internal and external communications, social media, internet and intranet services as well as all hospital events. As he says, “I have a great job. I get paid to tell our community about some of the finest physicians, nurses and care givers working anywhere in the world.”
A father of two sons, John is ALMOST a native New Orleanian. He is heavily involved in many charities and events such as the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, the MS Tour for the Cure and the Crescent City Classic. He loves to travel and listen to live music at almost any of the city’s many venues.
